Free video metadata remover

Remove metadata from video

Remove location, camera model, software, title and dates from MP4, MOV and M4V. No re-encoding: picture and sound stay byte-for-byte identical.

  • Location and device
  • C2PA boxes
  • No re-encode

Supported user-data, metadata, XML, and embedded C2PA boxes, plus creation and modification times in supported movie/track/media headers.

What metadata does a video file carry?

Phone and camera videos store records much like photos.

An MP4 or MOV file can hold the recording location, the phone or camera model, creation and modification times, the editing app and C2PA Content Credentials.

This tool removes supported user data, metadata and XML boxes, embedded C2PA boxes, and the creation and modification times in movie, track and media headers.

The video and audio streams are copied exactly, so there is no quality loss and no waiting for a re-encode.
