Why do AI PNGs contain the prompt?
Local AI tools save the full recipe inside the image.
Automatic1111, Forge and ComfyUI write the prompt, negative prompt, seed, sampler, model and sometimes the whole node workflow into PNG text chunks. Anyone with the file can read it, or load it to recreate your image.
This tool removes the recognized generation records: parameters, prompt, negative_prompt, workflow and comfyui, plus explicit XMP generation fields.
The image data is not re-encoded, so transparency, color and pixels stay exactly the same.
